そして、ANSM(Austin New School Music)のリーダーであるリチャード・スペンサーさんが、私たちDiamond Booms(Brad HouserとKIRILOLA)とEvan Taniguchiさんをつないでくれました。
(The story of Mother Treeという本にも書かれています!)
++++++++++++++++
After being away from Japan for so long, I started to feel very homesick.
Then this past February I visited for the first time the Taniguchi Japanese Garden in Austin.
In that garden, I unexpectedly felt the familiar sense of Japanese energy in harmony with the natural world. I feel that I was destined to discover this place!
I had a very, very good time.
And, Richard Spencer, the leader of ANSM (Austin New School Music), connected us, Diamond Booms, (Brad Houser and KIRILOLA) with Evan Taniguchi.
We got to meet Mr. Evan Taniguchi, grandson of Mr. Isamu Taniguchi.
Mr. Isamu Taniguchi created the garden almost all by himself by the age of 68 and donated it to Austin.
Mr. Evan Taniguchi personally escorted us through the garden while telling us the precious story about his grandfather’s inspiration to create this wonderful garden while talking to Mother Tree (which is also written in a book!).
The spirit of the Mother Tree, which is technically dead, actually felt very much alive all around us!
I could strongly feel the energy of Mother's love and sang the Japanese children's song, "Furusato".
The Mother Tree gives us the will to create.
I had no idea until now that there is a Japanese garden in the city of Austin, Texas, where everything is in harmony.
It is reassuring to know that Austin is like my home away from home.
After the encounters with Mr. Evan and The Garden, I am now overflowing with the desire to create!
I hope you are all looking forward to visiting!
I recommend that you visit the Garden quietly with peace in your heart, and listen to the whisper from this beautiful place.
